The most frequent environmental love campaign conducted by Miss Earth 2013, Nita Sofiani (21), is a cost-effective use of plastic bags. Whenever shopping, Nita will refuse the plastic bag firmly. For that, wherever he goes, he will always carry a cloth bag that can be used many times.
About this habit, she said, “I invite others to wear ecofriendly bags while shopping. In social media, I aggressively socialize environmentally friendly bags. When I shop, I immediately turn down the plastic bag and take out my bag. From there, I can give an example to others,”
Since reaching the title of Miss Earth 2013, Nita also intensively campaigning love environment to a number of areas. Nita, who had won the title of Miss West Java in 2011, said, “Once I visited to the island of Tanjung Sauh (Riau Islands) to see the conservation of water, the conservation of extraordinary.”
In 2014, Nita won seven awards at the Miss Earth International event held in the Philippines. Some of the awards are Miss Friendship, Bronze Medal for best category and Top Best Talent.
Reflection
Many times natural disaster hit this beloved country. To the extent that there is a TV station that gives the name of the Disaster Affairs when broadcasting the disasters that are happening in this country. The question is why should there be a disaster? These disasters cannot be separated from human habits in treating the environment in which they live.
The story gives us the inspiration to dare to take the road contrary to the wrong habits of many people. Nita Sofiani dare to give an example by limiting themselves to using plastic materials that interfere the environment. He realized that the plastic material was not destroyed in the soil. Reducing the use of plastics means allowing the ground to repair itself. The surrounding environment will be better.
Often many people are not aware of this situation. Many people feel indifferent to the safety of the environment. It was only when a natural disaster occurred that people became aware of the discomforts of their lives. But even so, people are not immediately aware of the situation of their lives. People keep littering. People keep using plastic materials for their lives.
What is needed is a higher awareness of environmental damage. People have to get used to saving the environment. Is not the environment an integral part of human life? Let’s change our lifestyle by loving the environment more.
