Thirtieth Week in Ordinary Time

Dear my friends,
Here is the Gospel for us today according to St. Luke 13:31-35

At that very hour some Pharisees came and said to him, “Get away from here, for Herod wants to kill you.” He said to them, “Go and tell that fox for me, ‘Listen, I am casting out demons and performing cures today and tomorrow, and on the third day I finish my work. Yet today, tomorrow, and the next day I must be on my way, because it is impossible for a prophet to be killed outside of Jerusalem.’ Jerusalem, Jerusalem, the city that kills the prophets and stones those who are sent to it! How often have I desired to gather your children together as a hen gathers her brood under her wings, and you were not willing! See, your house is left to you. And I tell you, you will not see me until the time comes when you say, ‘Blessed is the one who comes in the name of the Lord.'”

This is the Gospel of the Lord. Praise to you Lord Jesus Christ.

JESUS always encounters opposition on his journey to Jerusalem. He knows that his Father’s will is for him to go to Jerusalem and surrender his life on the cross for the sake of our salvation. He never escape from his Father’s will.

Jesus also knows that the cross lies ahead of him. Nevertheless, he also knows that his death on the cross is not the end. He says that beyond death is the Resurrection.

In the Perpetual Adoration of the Eucharist we adore Jesus Christ who gives us example to always confident in the face of our own difficulties and struggles. He is always with us ready to give us the help of his grace and the strength of his hand.

Let’s pray: Lord Jesus Christ, you want to be involved in our life. You will always accompany us on our journey. We need to let you draw us to yourselves. Teach us that you are always with us and that we are never alone now and forever. Amen.
