Saturday after Ash Wednesday

Dear my friends,
Here is the Gospel for us today according to St. Luke 5:27-32

After this Jesus went out, and saw a tax collector, named Levi, sitting at the tax office; and he said to him, “Follow me.” And he left everything, and rose and followed him. And Levi made him a great feast in his house; and there was a large company of tax collectors and others sitting at table with them. And the Pharisees and their scribes murmured against his disciples, saying, “Why do you eat and drink with tax collectors and sinners?” And Jesus answered them, “Those who are well have no need of a physician, but those who are sick; I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.”

This is the Gospel of the Lord. Praise to you Lord Jesus Christ.

IN the Gospel today, Jesus says, “I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.” How great is this words of Jesus. He tells us that he wants to reach everybody and forgive everybody, especially the sinners like us.

We realize that we are all sinners. So we all need to be forgiven and to forgive one another. We need forgiveness which can only come from God’s love and mercy. It also leads us to love one another.

Trully, what Jesus says is a living word open to all humanity in need of redemption. Jesus Christ shows us that God is merciful. He presents the face of God’s love and mercy.

In the Perpetual Adoration of the Eucharist we worship Jesus Christ who has come for all sinners. He extends to everyone his call to repent and be transformed by his merciful grace and to be saved.

Let’s pray: Lord Jesus Christ, we wish to respond to your infinite mercy and love by loving you more each day. We realize how difficult it is for us to forgive. Help us to do so always as you have done for us. Help us to forgive wholeheartedly those who have done us wrong. Help us to love them, pray for them and do good to them even though they harm us. Help us tirelessly to bring to the world your love and mercy now and forever. Amen.
