Friday after Ash Wednesday
Dear my friends,
Here is the Gospel for us today according to St. Matthew 9:14-15
The disciples of John approached Jesus and said, “Why do we and the Pharisees fast much, but your disciples do not fast?” Jesus answered them, “Can the wedding guests mourn as long as the bridegroom is with them? The days will come when the bridegroom is taken away from them, and then they will fast.”
This is the Gospel of the Lord. Praise to you Lord Jesus Christ.

IN the Gospel today Jesus says, “The days will come when the bridegroom is taken away from them, and then they will fast.” During these days of the Lenten season, the time of fasting has come and we are fasting now.
During this season of Lent, we fast. We want to feel the hunger together those who are craving for food. It is a symbol of the deeper spiritual hunger we should feel for God and for heaven.
These days are the time for fasting. It reminds us of the longing to reach our destination safely to God.
In the Perpetual Adoration of the Eucharist we worship Jesus Christ who hungers for souls to be redeemed. He wants to reconcile us to the Father. There we bring so many souls who are waiting for our prayer and sacrifice before the Most Blessed Sacrament.
Let’s pray: Lord Jesus Christ, you know how much we need you and depend on you for everything. We put all our confidence in your love and mercy. Lord, make us generous and joyful in sacrifice. It unites us closer to you and wins the grace of conversion for so many souls you love and for whom you died. You are our Redeemer now and forever. Amen.
