Seventeenth Week in Ordinary Time
Dear my friends,
Here is the Gospel for us today according to St. Matthew 13: 44-46
Jesus said to his disciples: “The Kingdom of heaven is like a treasure buried in a field, which a person finds and hides again, and out of joy goes and sells all that he has and buys that field. Again, the Kingdom of heaven is like a merchant searching for fine pearls. When he finds a pearl of great price, he goes and sells all that he has and buys it.”
This is the Gospel of the Lord. Praise to you Lord Jesus Christ.

IN the Gospel reading today, Jesus Christ reminds us to seek the Kingdom of heaven. It is like the priceless treasure and the fine pearls. So we must be willing to leave aside all other concerns to really possess it. Yes surely, we must leave aside anything that gives us a false sense of security outside of God for the sake of having the Kingdom of heaven.
It means that we are all called to experience the desire for unconditional love, true goodness, the answer to our deepest questions. This Kingdom of heaven is Jesus Christ in whom God has come to give himself to us. He is the only one we truly long for. He is our greatest treasure and fine pearl.
In the Perpetual Adoration of the Eucharist we adore Jesus Christ who is the priceless treasure and our finest pearl God has granted to his Church. There, we adore Jesus Christ through whom we have experienced the overwhelming faithfulness of God’s love for us. Are we making Adoration of the Eucharist the one value that guides our heart to his love and transforms our life?
Let’s pray: Lord Jesus Christ, you have made us for yourself. You are the treasure we truly long for. Our heart is restless until we rest in you. We want to encounter you more deeply today so that you can be our treasure. We wish to discover your love more deeply and give it to others now and forever. Amen.
