Memorial of Saints Joachim and Anne, Parents of the Blessed Virgin Mary
Dear my friends,
Here is the Gospel for us today according to St. Matthew 13:16-17
Jesus said to the crowds, “But blessed are your eyes, because they see, and your ears, because they hear. Amen, I say to you, many prophets and righteous people longed to see what you see but did not see it, and to hear what you hear but did not hear it.”
This is the Gospel of the Lord. Praise to you Lord Jesus Christ.

IN the Gospel reading today, Jesus Christ says, “Blessed are your eyes, because they see, and your ears, because they hear.” What does it mean?
In fact, Jesus Christ wants to offer us happiness and blessing through what we see and we hear. But we have to see with new eyes and to hear with new ears. It means that we are seeing and hearing with eyes and ears of faith, hope and love.
Surely, faith, hope and love allow us to see the world supernaturally. A natural way of seeing things limits us in a thousand ways, because the natural universe is limited and temporary. Yet, the supernatural world seen through faith, hope and love is unlimited, coming to fulfillment and lasting forever.
In order to adore faithfully Jesus Christ in the Perpetual Adoration of the Eucharist, we trully need this new eyes and ears of faith, hope and love. Without faith, hope and love we will see intently but never understand; hear but not believe. Do we have this new eyes and eyes of faith, hope and love so that we are always blessed whith his happiness?
Let’s pray: Lord Jesus Christ, grant us the grace of new eyes and ears to fight with a spirit of faith, hope and love. We want to increase in these virtues and begin to see the world with eyes of faith, hope and love. With you our future is always brighter, filled with more hope and greater promise of happiness forever and ever. Amen.
