Dear my friends,
Here is the Gospel for us today according to St. Luke 19:41-44

As Jesus drew near Jerusalem, he saw the city and wept over it, saying, “If this day you only knew what makes for peace– but now it is hidden from your eyes. For the days are coming upon you when your enemies will raise a palisade against you; they will encircle you and hem you in on all sides. They will smash you to the ground and your children within you, and they will not leave one stone upon another within you because you did not recognize the time of your visitation.”

This is the Gospel of the Lord. Praise to you Lord Jesus Christ.

THE Gospel today tells us, Jesus Christ sees the city of Jerusalem and weeps over it. Why? Because the leaders of Jerusalem do not know what makes for peace. It is hidden from their eyes. They do not know the most important choice to love and accept Jesus Christ, The Peace-Maker. They choose to deny him.

We may also sometimes not know what is the most important choice in life to love and accept Jesus Christ. Like the city of Jerusalem we choose to deny Jesus Christ. We do not want to adore him lovingly.

In the Perpetual Adoration of the Eucharist we learn to choose the greatest thing in our lives by adoring Jesus Christ. Trully, what a truly beautiful soul who chooses to spend his life serving God!

Let’s pray: Lord Jesus Christ, now we realize clearly that opting for you and your ways gives direction to our lives. Help us always to choose what is the best in our lives to love you and to serve others especially the poor now and forever. Amen.
