Twenty-fourth Week in Ordinary Time
Dear my friends,
Here is the Gospel for us today according to John 3:13-17
Jesus Christ says, “No one has ascended into heaven but he who descended from heaven, the Son of man. And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, so must the Son of man be lifted up, that whoever believes in him may have eternal life.” For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. For God sent the Son into the world, not to condemn the world, but that the world might be saved through him.”
This is the Gospel of the Lord.

TODAY is the feast of the holy cross of Jesus Christ. Do we know the healing transforming power of the holy cross of Jesus Christ? In his holy cross Jesus Christ unites earth with heaven and raises those on earth to the glory of heaven.
In the Gospel today Jesus Christ explains to Nicodemus, one of the chief leaders of the Jewish nation, that the Son of man (= Jesus Christ himself) must be lifted up, that whoever believes in him may have eternal life. God so loves the world that he gives his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.
His cross is victory. His victory on the cross cancels the debt of our sin, and releases us from guilt and condemnation. His death and victory brings us new abundant life.
In the Perpetual Adoration of the Eucharist we worship Jesus Christ whose sacrificial death was an act of total love through self-giving. He gave himself completely out of love for his Father and for each of us for our sake and for our salvation.
Let’s pray: Lord Jesus Christ, your love is limitless because it embraces the whole world and every individual created in God’s image and likeness. May we love you above all else. Set us free to love you and serve others now and forever. Amen.
